Dingue! (Crazy!) is the name of the latest spectacular show offered by the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione, a much-loved institution in the heart of Paris. Keeping the circus tradition alive and thriving while also staying ahead of the latest trends, the Cirque d'Hiver has made a specialty of providing a venue for the most talented circus performers in the world and their superb acts combining dexterity and savoir-faire, beauty and grace. The Cirque d’Hiver: a true institution

Opened by the newly instated emperor Napoleon III on December 11th, 1852, the Cirque d'Hiver (Winter Circus) has a rich history spanning nearly two centuries. It hosted numerous circus innovations, from the first flying trapeze artiste to the new wild animal shows, including a swimming pool under the ring. In 1934, the Bouglione Brothers took over and added to decades of circus history with ever more innovative acts and the famous television show Piste aux Etoiles. Today, the Bouglione heirs perpetuate this tradition of excellence, welcoming performers from all over the world.

 

From laughter to thrills

The new production, Dingue!, which will run throughout the 2021-2022 season, is an invitation to rediscover all the fun and thrills of the circus. While embracing all the classic and traditional aspects of circus performance, including the Ringmaster, acrobats, the clumsy clown, horse and juggling acts, the new spectacular offers fresh dimensions of laughter, wonder, elegance and excitement for young and old alike. From the astonishing dexterity of Geraldine Philadelphia and her reinvention of the hula hoop act to the shadow puppet brilliance of Sergi Buka, who uses his magic lantern to tell a story of wolves and rabbits, deer and birds, and from the eccentricities of Totti the Clown to the strength and awe-inspiring balancing skills of Fratelli Caveagna, this show has it all. Your Ouest Hotel team fell in love with Adèle Fame and her airy, elegant and light performance with the aerial straps, and were captivated by the Navas Brothers and their mastery of the wheel of death, which took our breath away.

Carried away by the tempo of nine musicians and their conductor and by the verbal swagger of the Ringmaster, you’ll forget your cares for two hours and find yourself in an enchanted world which enthrals adults as much as it does children.
