Icons of Modern Art
The exhibition Icons of Modern Art; the Shchukin Collection, which runs from October 20th, 2016 to February 20th, 2017, is organised by the Fondation Louis Vuitton, an art museum and cultural centre sponsored by the world-famous fashion house. The event was scheduled in the official calendar of the 2016 - 2017 Franco-Russian Cultural Tourism year as the start of a collaboration between the State Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin Museum, resulting from a partnership contract signed on February 10th, 2016, in Moscow.
During the period in question, one hundred and thirty masterpieces collected by the Russian textile merchant Sergei Shchukin will be reunited after a century for a first-ever show outside Russia. This legendary collection includes art by Monet, Cezanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Derain, Matisse, and many others. In tandem with the exhibition, there will be the release of a large catalogue dealing with clothing and fashion in modern and contemporary art between the 19th and 20th centuries.
It is important to note that the event was made possible through the cooperation of the grandson of Sergei Shchukin with André of Fine Arts Pushkin and Mikhail B, the Director of the State Hermitage Museum and Zelfira Tregulova, the Director of the Tretyakov State Gallery.
The Paris International Boat Show
For many years now, the Salon Nautique International de Paris (Paris Boat Show) has staked its claim to its territorial waters in the midst of Paris and today it has become one of the leading events of its kind in the world. All the latest developments in the field of boats and boating can be found here.
The 56th edition of the Paris International Boat Show will be held from December 3rd to 11th at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre in Paris, and this year the event has been expanded into an additional hall. The three main areas of this large and wide-ranging trade fair will deal with sailing boats, motor boats and board sports.
Since its origins in 1962, the Paris Boat Show has grown and developed massively, and the organisers are determined that each year’s event should be even better than the last.
For boating enthusiasts from other countries, spending a holiday in Paris at this time would be the ideal way to experience this great event.
