The Fondation Custodia and trade fairs near the Ouest Hotel

As 2017 gets fully under way it’s already shaping up to be a great year for exhibitions and trade fairs in Paris. The Fondation Custodia art museum has some wonderful works from the days of Rembrandt currently on display. Retromobile offers a wealth of interest for classic car enthusiasts from February 8th to 12th, while the Agricultural Fair has plenty to interest the whole family, including the opportunity to sample some French culinary specialities, from February 25th to March 5th.
Exhibition at the Fondation Custodia
The Fondation Custodia is an essential place to visit for all lovers of drawing. Drawings for Paintings in the Age of Rembrandt is a current exhibition presented by this superb art museum, providing a rare opportunity to observe more closely some rarely seen works by Rembrandt, including ‘Rampart near St Anthonispoort’ (1642-1652), and many other great Dutch painters. There is also the chance to see the creations on paper of the Flemish engraver Joseph Van Ruyssevelt and beautiful graphics on loan from the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam. You can also discover ‘Choir of Utrecht Cathedral’ (1636) by Pieter Saenredam, ‘A wooded valley in the mountains’ (1651) by Herman Saftleven, ‘Warship of the Dutch Fleet’ (1686) By Willen Van de Velde the Younger, and many more masterworks. The Retromobile Show
Retromobile is one of the largest trade fairs dedicated to classic and vintage cars in the world. Here is where automotive history and heritage meet, facilitated by more than 550 exhibitors, over 100 clubs and, of course, the cars themselves; 500 beautiful vehicles of yesteryear for you to admire.
Highlights this year include a look at Aston Martin during the David Brown era, the Legend of Ferrari, the last surviving examples of the earliest French tanks, and the Artcurial car auction.

The Agricultural Fair
The Paris International Agricultural Show is one of the largest and most important events of its kind in the world. This wide-ranging and family friendly annual trade fair offers the perfect opportunity to get to know the gastronomic products of France a little better. It not only brings together thousands of farmers and other agricultural sector professionals together in one place, but also provides plenty of activities for all ages. The venue is the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre, so there’s plenty of room for everyone. Come along and sample the flavours of sheep's cheese, sausage and onions, pan-fried foie gras and a veritable banquet of other tempting food items. For dessert, you might want to try the yoghurt or raspberry ice cream. A full meal costs about €25.
